Connie at MasterCuts at the Morgantown Mall can give a lousy haircut and charge $12.95.
I simply just made a comment like, "Well, that's the fastest haircut I've ever had" while rolling my eyes. I guess I should realize that that is the reason people go to places like that, in the mall - for a quick in and out experience. And that's sort of why I went in there - just an impulse cut because my hair was at an uncomfortable length and I wanted it cut now, rather than making an appointment at a nicer salon. So I guess you get what you pay for... but geez! Three minutes?!? I sat down, and before I finished telling her what I wanted her to do, she was done and asking for my money! Even if it doesn't take longer for the quality of haircut they provide, at least fake it and make people feel like they are getting their money's worth.
Rant over.

Real or stuffed?
Of course we all know she is real, but if you didn't... it would be a tough call, wouldn't it?

Vacation pics - just a little late
Here are a few of my favorite pictures from our Bethany Beach vacation a couple weeks ago.
The family beach photo that my mom just had to have. It was a great idea, and we didn't have to pay a photographer an arm & a leg, just found some wanderer on the beach to take it for free!

Aaahhh... the good life. Here I am before heading down to the beach for the day. I just love the scene in the background!

The fishermen.

All cleaned-up, ready to hit the boardwalk. I think we went to Rehoboth that night.

And finally, I just love this one of Bobby surf-fishing. Looks like he has the beach all to himself.

Vegetables, turtles, guests, and... OK!
We are back home - our summer travels are sadly over. Our time in Oklahoma was very nice... we saw lots of Bobby's (and mine now) friends and family, visited his former workplaces, played a ton of pool, walked around Bricktown (downtown OKC), did a little shopping, and played with Mindy's (my sister in law) new pet rabbit. She was so cute!
Here we are in Bricktown last Saturday - Bobby's grandma, Mindy, Bobby, and me.

Bobby playing with Faith (it made us miss Mopsy).

We got home on Monday just a couple hours before we had our first visitors - Currie & Abby! We were so excited that they scheduled us into their summer travel plans. Unfortunately they were only here for about 16 hours because they had to continue on with their travels, but they're coming back in a few days. Hopefully I'll remember to take a couple pictures then.
I didn't have a chance to show any pictures when we were home last weekend of the garden, but it totally exploded while we were gone. So far we have been able to pick a bunch of jalapeno peppers, 4 zucchinis, and a cucumber. The onions and lettuce are about ready too, I think.

And our final news is that we got another turtle yesterday. We have been wanting to get a friend for Brooks for awhile now and we finally did it. We got the cutest little female yellow-bellied slider (same as Brooks) at PetCo. She doesn't have a name yet, but don't worry, it's not going to be Brook. She is so friendly and brave - we had them playing out in the yard yesterday and today, she runs everywhere - basically runs circles around Brooks. When we put them in the tank together, he was trying to flirt with her but she didn't seem too interested and it turned a little violent, so we took him out to "punish" him for a couple days. Hopefully we won't have to end up naming her Stumpy.
Here is Brooks on the left and "newbie" on the right.

Still away from home
This time we are in Oklahoma visiting Bobby's family and friends. Don't fret, we'll be back home in a few days and there will be lots of pictures posted from these past few weeks. What a fun month this has been!

Vacation
We are currently vacationing in Bethany Beach, Delaware. For daily details of where we've been and what we're doing, Bobby has been hogging the computer and posting pictures on his blog. Well, my family is waiting for me to head down to the beach to "set up" our stuff and claim our plot for the day. (my parents drove over to join us for a couple days) UVA rays here I come!

The Garden Chronicles - week 3?
Yes, I've lost track of time already... oh well, I think the garden has been in existence for 3 weeks, so we'll go with that.
Everything is growing really well, I'm very pleased (and just a little bit amazed). All the vegetables are thriving, especially the onions - look how much they have popped through! And the zucchini plants are huge! So far we've only seen a couple flower blooms, maybe when we get back from the beach in a couple weeks we'll have a couple fruits or vegetables.

Life for us - inside and out
First, a couple inside shots. Brooks got the hook-up when we moved (yes, we know he's not the only one), he finally got to use his new, humongous tank that was stored in our basement for a couple years. And his amazingly quiet new filter which we love very much!

One day I couldn't find Bunny for over 3 hours, and then I was walking up the stairs from the living room up to the bedroom (for the millionth time) and there she was.... (we have since blocked off that spot, it made me too nervous to have her sitting there with a 6 foot drop beneath her.)

Here is a lovely view of the pond from our garden.

The other day I was sitting on our front porch and I saw this - a deer, eating off of a tree, most likely on her way over to the pond for a drink.

Then later I got this picture... this doe is really brave, she came over to eat some corn which is in that bin by the water. So beautiful!

And finally a picture of our front- (which is actually the back) porch. Taking that sign down from our front door at Atherton was supposed to be a momentous occassion; I had to keep holding off our helpers from taking it down, because I wanted it to be the last thing taken down & packed away, and get a photo of it... but apparently "someone" forgot to tell Bobby about this plan and he took it down when I wasn't looking. oh well. It looks good in its new location.

A couple pictures from moving day
What a lovely backdrop, I know... our last photo at Atherton with Erik & Joy and Currie (we missed ya, Abby!)

Me and Bobby with Ben, Anna & Ella. We're so glad they came over to tell us goodbye that morning!!

Last stop in St Louis before hitting the road - QT - for one of my favorite treats in life, a frozen cappuccino. They're almost as good as Bread Co (aka Panera) or Starbucks, but at only a tiny fraction of the cost. Just another thing I'm going to miss about living in the Lou.

We are gardening now!
So you might wonder, why would two people who don't eat vegetables want a vegetable garden? Because we live in the country now and that's what country folk do, isn't it?!? And, most of you know how much Bobby loves salsa, so we mostly have the ingredients for that - tomatoes, peppers, onions, and cilantro. We also decided to throw in some carrots & lettuce (the two vegetables that I actually like), and squash, canteloupe, watermelon, cucumber, and zucchini.
